*4/12/14* Cograts to Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Tee Watkins & Mike Devere!! Tee finished in 15th place in FLW Tour event on the co-angler side with a 3 day total of 16 lbs, while Mike finished in 45th with a 2 day total of 10.02 lbs. Tee moved to 28th in the points with only 2 events left before the Forrest Wood Cup!
*4/5/14* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Tyler Gregory of Pine Knot, Ky. He had a five fish limit that went 17.14 lbs. in the 2nd BFL Mountain Division Tournament at Dale Hollow. Tyler received $1,031 for his efforts plus he gets the $50 Pittsburg Marine "Pumpkin Patch" money. Congrats on a job well done!!
*3/23/14* Congrats to Brian Oliver & Josh Boone for Big Fish at the TBF Student Angler Federation State Championship. Josh reports the fish was caught on "Steel & Plastic!!" Thank you to all the area High Schools for getting involved in fishing and thanks to all the boat captains and coaches for their time and efforts!!
*3/15/14* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Densmore Goodson for his second place finish in the first 2014 BFL Mountain Division event at Dale Hollow. The fishing was absolutely awesome with one big limit after another!! Densmore had a total of 20.15 lbs. and received $2,891.00 for his efforts. Also finishing in the money from Team Pittsburg Marine was Rusty Smith in 10th place with 19.02, Bart Hardy in 28th place with 17.05 & David Oliver in 36th with 16.13. On the co-angler side in the money for Team Pittsburg Marine was the hottest young guy in this area, Colton Smith!! He finished in 7th place with 17.09 (Heaven help us all when Rusty puts him in the front of the boat!!) and in 30th place with 13.12 was Tony Johnson. Congrats to all for a great job and Good Luck at the second BFL Mountain Division Tournament back at Dale Hollow on April 5th!!
*2/9/14* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine Colton Smith and Brenton Clemons of Southwestern High School in Somerset, Ky. They travelled 14 hours to fish the High School Fishing Open - the first of five High School Fishing Opens to be held in ...conjunction with Walmart FLW Tour events this season - on the Caloosahatchee River in Florida. They won the event with a 12-pound, 6-ounce limit. These 2 guys are hotter than a $2 dollar pistol!!
*2/6/14* The 2014 tournament season has kicked off & Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen are claiming checks!! Tee Watkins & Mike Devere both fished on the co-angler side of the 2014 Opening FLW Tour event on Lake Okeechobee and finished in the money. Tee had a 2 day total of 22.14 and finished 27th good for $1,000 & Mike finished 84th with 17.02 good for $700. Congratulations to 2 great guys!!
*11/30/2013* Congratulations to Donnie & Derek Flynn for winning the 34th Annual Bill Taylor & Ronnie McClure Thanksgiving Buddy Tournament presented by Pittsburg Marine & Ranger Boats. The bite was on, with it taking 10.03 to get 24th place money!! Donnie & Derek had a 6 fish limit that weighed in at 19.55 lbs. For their efforts they received $2,000 + $1,000 Ranger Boat Certificate. Not bad for a day’s work!!!. In 2nd place was Shawn Murphy & Randy Conkwright with 18.74 lbs, 3rd place went to Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Tim Tyson & partner Frank Powell with 16.03 lbs, 4th place went to Denton Asher & Rodney Campbell with 15.40 lbs and 5th place was Patrick Well & Dearl Turner with 15.03 lbs. Big Fish went to the team of Randall Osborne & Perry Neatherly with a 5.53 largemouth. Congratulations to all and thank you to each team for coming out and fishing with us!!! If the “Good LORD” tarries his coming we will have the 35th Annual Thanksgiving Buddy Tournament on November 29th, 2014!!! God Bless & Good Fishin!!!
*11/9/13* Congratulations to Southwestern High School's Colton Smith & partner Corey Frye along with boat captain Rusty Smith!! They fished the Rockastle Co. Open at Dale Hollow and won their 2nd High School Tournament in a row!! (It's got to be the shirt!!!)
*11/2/13* Congratulations to the team of Perry Neatherly & Jimmy Gayheart for winning the 4th Annual Fish'n for Missions Buddy Tournament. This years tournament was the biggest Fish'n for Missions tournament yet with 103 entries!!! Perry & Jimmy had 4 smallmouth that went 15.17!!! They received Fish'n for Missions Bibles (God's Word is Priceless!!!) plus a total of a $1,000 for first place. In 2nd place plus Big Fish with 15.03 was the team of Mark Weston & Scotty McQuery (2011 Fish'n for Missions winners), 3rd place went to Mickey Ballard & Doug Sandlin with 12.57, 4th place went to Barry Strunk & D&L Jigs Josh Brake with 12.45, rounding out the top 5 was long time friends of Pittsburg Marine Rick Smith & Dean Turner with 11.44.
We would like to thank all 103 teams that supported this tournament. The real winners are actually the people that the Fish'n for Missions entry fees will help!!! Special thanks to all those who helped sponsor this event!!! We really appreciate the efforts of each who were so willing to reach out!!! *10/26/13* Thank you to Ricky Kempton and the gang at Wayne Co. High School for putting on another first class High School tournament!! Congratulations to Mr. Colton Smith (NICE SHIRT!!) and his partner from Southwestern for their win. Finishing 3rd for North Laurel were the team of Josh Boone and Brian Oliver. Congrats to all the kids and boat captains that came out!!
*10/5/13* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Matt Brown of Corbin, Ky. Matt & his Dad, Ronald, purchased a new Ranger RT 188 Aluminum from us on August 28th. In his first tournament on October 5th he broke it in right!! Matt and his partner Jeremy Elliott, representing Corbin High School, won the Bradley Roy High School Open at Ceder Creek Lake!! With the victory they received an automatic bid to the 2014 B.A.S.S. High School National Championship!! Congratulations for a job well done & Good Luck at the National Championship!!!
*10/5/13* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Kenny Hardin of Columbia, Ky. for his 3rd place finish at Lake Guntersville in the BFL Regional. Kenny had a 3 day total of 30 lb. even and earned a trip to the 2014 BFL All American in June on Lake Wilson. On the boater side Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Pat Eichmann of Nancy, Ky. & Tyler Moberly of Berea, Ky. both finished in the money. Pat made it to 3rd day cut with a total of 39.07 good enough for 11th place while Tyler finished 15th with a two day total of 27.10. Also finishing in the money on the co-angler side were Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Chan Hood in 9th and Doug "Peaches" Ramsey in 22nd both of Somerset, Ky. Congrats to all that made the BFL Regional at Lake Guntersville. The 2014 BFL Mountain Division opener is March 15th at Dale Hollow, I can' wait!!!
*9/8/13* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Richard Cobb V for winning the 2013 BFL Mountain Division Points. Richard finished in 3rd place in the final Mountain Division tournament at Barren River to seal the deal. He had a two day total of 28.07 and received $1,957 for his efforts plus he will receive another $1,000 for winning the points when he goes to Lake Guntersville to fish the BFL Regional. Other Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen finishing in the money at Barren River were Pat Eichman 4th, Taylor Stumbo 11th, Rusty Smith 12th, Tee Watkins 17th and Brian Wilson 21st.
On the Co-Angler side Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Mr. Colton Smith was up to his old tricks again! He finished in 5th place with a two day total of 19.13 and received $537 for his efforts. Colton is only a senior in High School! I hope Rusty keeps him in the back of the boat for a while longer. Cause when he gets to the front he is going to be hard to handle for the rest of the field!! Also finishing in the money on the Co-Angler side for Team Pittsburg Marine was Chan Hood in 13th and Tommy Brewer in 17th. We would like to wish all the top 40 Mountain Division Boaters & Co-Anglers the best of luck at the Lake Guntersville Regional in Guntersville, Al. October 3rd to 5th where the top 6 finishers will advance to the 2014 BFL All American!!
*6/29/13* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Jerry Reagan of Byrdstown, Tn for his win on the co-angler side of the FLW Tour Event on Lake Chickamauga. He had a three day total of 46.12 including a 5 pounder each day!! Jerry earned $20,000 for his victory plus another $5,000 for Ranger Cup (it pays to own a Ranger Boat purchased from Pittsburg Marine)!!! Jerry also qualified for the "Forrest Wood Cup" at Red River August 15th where he will be fishing for $50,000. Also finishing in money on the co-angler side was Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Mike Devere. He finished in 16th with a three day total of 29.15 good for $1,318. On the Pro side Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman John Devere finished in 39th with a two day total of 29.08 good for $9,930. Hmmm, Mike and John both in the money, I wonder if they would bite a jig?!?!? Congratulations to each and good luck Jerry at the "Forrest Wood Cup!!!"
*6/22/13* Congratulations to Pittsburg Marine's very own Rick Brammer for Big Fish in the Fishers of Men event on Barren River. His fish went 5.36 and was caught on the ole' ball & chain!! Also finishing in the money were Team Pittsburg Maine fishermen Brian Ross and Jarred Carpenter in 3rd with 15.46, Gary Tyree and Steve Taylor in 4th with 14.23 and Ed and Jarred Hembree in 5th with 14.09. Good job guys!!!
*6/1/13* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Jeff Carman of Liberty, Ky. He finished in 5th place in the Barren River BFL Mountain Division tournament with a limit that went 15.01 lbs anchored by this 5 lb plus toad!! Jeff reported catching his fish in the bushes on a War Eagle spinnerbait. He received $849 plus the $50 Pittsburg Marine "Punpkin Patch" money for his efforts. Also finishing in the money from Team Pittsburg Marine was Barry Smith in 11th, Jerry Reagan in 13th, Tyler Gegory in 15th & Rusty Smith in 16th.
On the co-angler side Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Colton Smith of Somerset, Ky lead the way finishing in 6th with a limit that went 13.03 lbs. He received $389 plus the $50 Pittsburg Marine "Punpkin Patch" money for his efforts. Also finishing in the money on the co-angler side from Team Pittsburg Marine was Brandon Moberly in 11th, Chan Hood in 14th, Lucas Devere 17th & Kenny Hardin in 23rd. Congratulations to all!! The next BFL Mountain Division tournament is the Super Tournament on September 7th & 8th back at Barren River.
*5/4/13* Congratulations to long time friend and Team Pittsburg Marine Fisherman Monte Hale for his 3rd place finish in the Lake Cumberland BFL Mountain Division event. It rained literally all day long, but the fish didn't drown!!! Monte brought 5 Smallies to the scale that went 14 pounds even. He reported catching his fish on a swimbait on flats around the Fall Creek area of thr lake and collected $1,413.00 dollars for his efforts. Also finishing in the money from Team Pittsburg Marine was Bill Bowling in 6th plus he also received $50 for the Pittsburg Marine "Pumpkin Patch," Densmore Goodson in 8th, Jeff Carman in 9th, Richard Cobb V & David Oliver tied for 12th, Brian Wilson in 20th and Heath Dean in 24th.
On the co-angler side congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Kenny Hardin for his 7th place finish. Kenny also received the $50 for the Pittsburg Marine "Pumpkin Patch." Congratulations to all and good luck at the next BFL Mountain tournament June 1st at Barren River!!!
*4/27/13* Pittsburg Marine would like to congratulate South Laurel High School’s Austin Turner & Lucas Powell for their 3rd place finish in the inaugural KHSAA Bass Fishing State Championship this past weekend at KenLake Marina. After turning in an opening day total of 15lb 9oz they nearly duplicated Friday’s weight with a second-day total of 15lb 10oz, for a total of 31lb 3oz. North Laurel High School's Conner McKinney & Dustin Chestnut finished 22nd, while the youngest competitor in the tournament from Corbin High School, Marcus Davis & partner Pierce Bishop finished 24th. There was a total of 42 teams participating for the 1st ever State Championship.
One of the greatest things about KHSAA Bass Fishing is the girls fish too!! Morgan Boggs from Corbin High School was one of 3 girls that qualified for the first KHSAA Bass Fishing State Championship. She won the Best & Brightest Award for the tournament!! Her and her partner Tanner Jordan come in 2nd at the Lake Cumberland regional to earn there spot in the state championship!! Oh yeah boys, she fishes from a Ranger!!!
*4/27/13* Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Terry Ledford gets excited to see the spawn start, simply because he can flat out catch'em. He came in with better than 22 pounds at Laurel in the Unite Tournament!!! However that was only good enough for 2nd place, 1st place took over 28 pounds!!! Wow!!! Congratulations to Terry and his partner for a great catch!!! Makes me want to fish all over myself!!!
*4/27/13* Team Pittsburg Marine had a excellent weekend in the Fisher of Men West & South Central Divisions with 2 victories!! First in the West Division Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Mike Willams and Ralph Feldman wacked'em at Greene River, with a limit that went 21.38 pounds. They reported catching their fish using umbrella rigs and jerkbaits on the main lake. Including a win in the bonus bucks, they cashed into the tune of $1469.00!!
Then in the South Central Division Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Densmore Goodson and Fred Moore weighed in a limit that went 12.08 at Lake Cumberland. They reported catching there fish on a jig on the lower end of the lake. With the win and bonus bucks, they won over $900!!! Congratulations to both teams for jobs well done!!!
*4/13/13* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Mike Willams & Ralph Feldman for there 2nd place finish in the West Ky Division of Fishers of Men at Kentucky Lake. They had a 5 fish limit that weighed in at 19.88, using jerk baits and D&L jigs. Feldman and Williams earned $688.00 for their efforts.
Rounding out the top five was Team Pittsburg Marine Rick Brammer and Jimmy Oliver with 16.85 pounds. Great job and congratulations!!!
