*8/8/2010* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine Fishermen John Devere, Brad Roberts, Brian Wilson, & Mike Devere for a awesome year in the FLW Tour. The 2010 season ended at the Forrest Wood Cup at Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Ga this weekend. John finished in 25th place with a 3 day total of 20.01 lbs and received $12,500 on the pro side. Brad went in as the defending co angler champion in the Forrest Wood Cup. He ended up in 8th place with a 3 day total of 16.10 lbs. and received $7,000, Brian finished in 46th with 3.12 lbs and received $2,000 & Mike finished in 56th with 2.14 lbs and received $1,500 for their efforts. Each of these fishermen have done great this year and we are proud for them. Congratulations to each!!

 

 

 

*6/25/2010* You've always heard the old saying "Like Father Like Son!!" Well here goes, congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Mike Devere for winning the co angler side of the FLW Tour event at Lake Guntersville, only 1 week after his son Lucas won the co angler side of the BFL event at Barren River. Mike had a three day total of 53.09 lbs and collected $20,000 first place plus $5,000 Ranger Cup (I'm telling ya it pays to fish out of the right brand boat bought at Pittsburg Marine!!) plus $2,500 Cabela's Angelers Cash for a grand total of $27,500!! Not bad for three days of hard work slaving over a hot rod & real!! Along with winning this event Mike also qualified for the 2010 Forrest Wood Cup at Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Ga on August 5th to the 8th. Along with Mike Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Brian Wilson finished 14th with a three day total of 45.04 lbs and received $1,141 for his efforts. Brian and Brad Roberts also qualified for the Forrest Wood Cup on the co angler side. Brad will be defending his 2009 Forrest Wood Cup Championship he won in Pittsburg, Pa.

On the boater side congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Tim McDonald for his 28th place finish. Tim had a three day total of 56.01 lbs. and received $9,783 for his efforts. Also John Devere quaified for the forth year in a row for the Forrest Wood Cup!! A lot of great fishermen never get to qualify the first time let alone four in a row. This is a great acomplishment by a great freind and a great fisherman. Congratulations to all of these guys for a awesome season in the FLW Tour and good luck at the Forrest Wood Cup!!!

 

 *June 19,2010* The old saying goes that "Even a blind hog will find a acorn!!" So congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman William Campbell for finding his acorn!! He won the 4th stop of the 2010 BFL Mountain Division @ Barren River with a whopping 20.02 lbs. He recevied $3,766 for first place and $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus (it pays to fish out of the right brand boat purchased at Pittsburg Marine) for a total of $5766. William went out boat number 1 and came back the same way at the end of the day. He set on the same spot for 7 1/2 hours and came up big. William is also our speaker at all of our Christian Anglers meetings. Congratulations to a great Christian leader for a great job well done!!

Also congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fiserman Lucas Devere for winning the co angler side with 17.11 lbs. Lucas received $1,883 for his efforts. The best of the Devere family fishermen may be just getting started with Lucas and Shannon's son Andrew. The rest of the bass fishing world better be on the look out for these 2 young guns!!

 

 

 *5/29/2010* A hardy congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Tee Watkins of East Point, Ky!! Tee finished 2nd in the 2010 BFL All-American at DeGray Lake near Hot Springs, Arkansas. He started out on day one with 3 fish that weighed in at 8.10 lbs that put him in 12th place. Then on the second day Tee made his move with a five fish limit that went 16.12 lbs . for the heaviest catch of the day. Tee moved from 12th to 2nd place to make the top ten cut. Day three turned into the toughest day of all though, with only three bites with two of them coming in the last hour for 5.06 lbs. Making a three day total of 30.12 lbs. Tee won a cool $20,000 for 2nd, plus $10,000 Ranger Cup (it pays to fish out of the right brand boat bought at Pittsburg Marine!!) making a total of $30,000 for his efforts. Congraulations for a great job done by a great freind!!!

 

 *5/29/2010* While Tee was at the All-American a lot of other Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen was at Lake Quachita also near Hot Springs, Arkansas. Leading the way for Team Pittsbug Marine was John Devere with a 42nd place finish on the pro side with a three day total of 30.02 lbs. John won $8,956 for his efforts. John is now only one event away from qualifying for his forth FLW Championship in a row!! On the co angler side the Team Pittsburg Marine guys done very well with Brad Roberts finishing in second place with a three day total of 24.12 lbs. He won a total of $11,598 for his efforts. Brad is currently in 2nd in points in the FLW co-angler of year race with only 1 event left. Brain Wilson finished in 13th pace with a total of 19.12 lbs. and received $1,152 while Mike Devere finished in 24th with 16.12 lbs. and received $970. Congratulations to each for jobs well done!!

 

*5/22/2010* Congratulations to the team of Allen Rose of Prestonsburg, Ky. & Frank Johnson of Pikeville, Ky. for winning the Freinds of Coal 2010 "East Ky. Open" presented by Pittsburg Marine on Dewey Lake. Allen & Frank had three fish that weighed in at 8.43 lbs. anchored with the Robinson's Premium Meats Hog that weighed 4.72 lbs. They won $1,200 for first place, plus $1,000 Ranger Boat cetificate, and $250 for the Robinson's Hog for a grand total of $2,450. Not bad for 8 hrs. of work!!

In second place was the team of Michael Morrison & Kyle Calhoun with four fish that weighed in at 8.24 lbs. They reported lossing their limit fish 2 times during the day, that's why we call it fishing and not catching!! Michael & Kyle won $800 for second place plus, $500 Ranger Cup (it pays to own the right boat, bought from Pittsburg Marine), and they also won a Minn Kota 24 volt 70 lb thrust Edge trolling motor worth $600 for a grand total of $1,900. Rounding out the top five was the teams of Wes & Stuart Halbert in third, Jason Patton & Marty Gibson in fourth, & Nathan Harless & Jimmy Dials in fifth. We would like to thank each team for coming out to fish with us. Also P.R.I.D.E. received a $1,350 donation from Freinds of Coal & Pittsburg Marine to help in keeping our communities clean. Special thanks to David Moss & Julie Wilson from the Freinds of Coal for all their help and support!! God Bless & Good Fishin!!

 

*4/10/2010* Cogratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Tim McDonald of Lexington,Ky. Tim won the BFL at Laurel with 11.06 lbs. The day started off with a 2 hour and 15 minute fog delay, then high blue skys made about as tough a day fishing as their is. Tim reported flipping out 2 of his 4 fish on a Brush Hog and caught the other 2 off the bed. Tim recevied $4,244 for his efforts plus another $2,000 in Ranger Cup (I'm telling ya it pays to fish in a Ranger bought at Pittsburg Marine!!). Also finishing in the money was Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Tee Watkins in 8th with 5.11 lbs, Darrell Wages in 11th with 5.01 lbs, Bill Bowling in 13th with 4.14 lbs, Jason Vanhook (aka Super Trooper) in 16th with 4.11 lbs, Bill Smith Jr. in 19th with 4.06 lbs, & Barry Smith in 24th with 3.13lbs. Cogratulations to each for jobs well done!!

 

*3/26/2010* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen John Devere & Tim McDonald. John & Tim had great finishes on the 2nd stop of the FLW Tour @ Lake Norman in Charlotte, NC. John finished in 27th with a total of 31lbs. and received $10,653 for his efforts. Tim finished in 38th with a total of 29.07 lbs. and received $10,166 for his efforts. On the co-angler side congratulations goes to Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Brian Wilson in 14th, Mike Devere in 20th, & Brad Roberts in 31st. I would say it's a safe bet that the jig bite was on!! A job well done by all 5 fishermen!!

 

 

*3/3/2010* The 2010 tournament season is now well under way and Team Pittsburg Marine Fishermen are already collecting checks. To start things off John Devere of Berea, Ky won $10,000 with a 50th place finish at Table Rock Lake in Branson, Mo. in the FLW Tour 2010 season opener. The bite was tough but John kept fishing his jig and had a total of 15.06 lbs. Plus Brad Roberts of Somerset, Ky. started right back where he left off last year, when he won the FLW Co-angler Championship with a 2nd place co-angler finish also at Table Rock. Brad had a total of 26.01 lbs and received $9,862 plus $2,500 Cabela's Angler Cash for his efforts. Congratulations to John and Brad for a great start in the 2010 FLW Tour!!

 

*3/13/2010* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fisherman Bill Bowling of Somerset, Ky. Bill went to Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Al. for the BFL Choo Choo Division tournament. Bill finished 1st with a 5 fish limit that weighed a total of 27.03 lbs!! Bill received $5,551 plus $2,000 Ranger Cup for his efforts (it pays to own a Ranger bought at Pittsburg Marine!!). That's a good payday for 1 day's worth of work!! Congatulations to Bill for a job well done!!

 

*3/20/2010* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fiserman Tyler Moberly of Berea, Ky. Tyler best the co-angler field at Dale Hollow in the BFL Mountain Division season opener. Tyler had 4 fish that weighed in at 7.15 lbs, he reported catching his fish on a Cumberland Pro Lures Shaky Head. He received $2,415 for his efforts. On the boater side several Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen cashed checks. Barry Smith of Cattletsburg, Ky. lead the way tied for 2nd place with 15.07 lbs. and received $2,012 for his efforts. Next was Brian Wade in 7th with 9.14 lbs., Richard Cobb V in 9th with 9.04 lbs., Brad Roberts in 11th with 9.02 lbs., Brian Wilson in 13th with 8.06 lbs and he also received a extra $1,000 from Evinrude as the highest Evinrude ETEC finisher, David Oliver in 24th with 5.13 lbs., Kelly Barrett in 25th with 5.11 lbs., and 28th went to "Super Trooper" Jason Vanhook with 5.04 lbs. Congratulations to each for cashing checks under very tough fishing conditons!!

*November 28, 2009* Congraulations to the team of Paul Lewis & Justin Bradenburg for winning the 30th Annual Bill Taylor & Ron McClure Thanksgiving Buddy Touranament presented by Pittsburg Marine @ Lake Cumberland. Paul & Justin had a 6 fish limit that weighed in at 17.74 lbs anchored by a 7.12 lb largemouth that got big fish honors as well!! They received $2000 + $1500 Ranger Certificate for first place & $100 big fish. Pictured with Paul & Justin are founders of the Thanksgiving Tournament Ron McClure & Bill Taylor. Not bad for one days work!! In 2nd place was the team of John & Mike Devere with a 6 fish limit that weighed 15.37 lbs. they received $1500 for their efforts. In 3rd place was the team of Kevin Kruchinski & Chris Cummins with 5 fish that weighed 14.99 lbs. they received $1250 for their efforts. In 4th place was the team of Dearl Turner & Patrick Wells with a 6 fish limit that weighed 13.66 lbs. they received $1000 for their efforts. For 5th place tied was the teams of Donnie Lewis & Danny Conners along with HC Sumpter & Garry Collins with 6 fish limits that weighed in at 13.15 lbs. each team received $750 for their efforts. The last money spot went to the team of Densmore Goodson & Raymond Popp with 3 fish that weighed 6.91 lbs. they received $100 for their efforts. The 30th place Pittsburg Marine 30th Anniversary $300 went to the team of Bill Nichols & Dennis Boyd with 2 fish that weighed in at 5.19 lbs. Pitsburg Marine would like to thank all 138 teams who came out in support of the 30th Annual Thanksgiving Buddy Tournament. Next years 31st Annual Thanksgiving Buddy Tournament will be November 27th, 2010 if it's the Good Lord's will.

 

 

*November 2, 2009* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Tyler Moberly & Richard Cobb V for their 2nd place finish in the FLW College Fishing Central Regional Championship at Kentucky Lake. Tyler & Richard had a 3 day total of 25.12 lbs and won $12,500 for their efforts. This also qualified them to fish in the FLW College National Championship in April on Fort Loudon/Tellico Lakes. Congratulations for a job well done and good luck in the National Championship!!

 

 

*October 24, 2009* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine member Tee Watkins for qualifying for the 2010 BFL All American. Tee finished in 4th place when the weigh in was over on Lake Norman in North Carolina. Even though the deck was stacked with local fisherman, Tee stayed true to the corse by catching a 3 day total of 27.10 lbs. Tee caught his fish on Cumberland Pro Lures 3/8 oz Pro Caster jigs around docks in Mountain Creek and the Blythe Landing area. Congatulations to Tee for a job well done!! Now go win the 2010 All American!!

 

 

*October 5, 2009* Congratulations to Team Pittburg Marine fisherman Jeff Carman and his brother John for winning the Fishers of Men 2009 Midwest/Central Lake Wheeler Regional Championship. Jeff and John hauled in 15.10 lbs to join the 15.98 from Day-1 and capture the 2009 Midwest/Central Regional Championship with 31.08 lbs overall. They received a fully rigged, $30,000.00, 2010 TR-18 Triton bass boat, powered by a 150hp Mercury Optimax, Motorguide trolling motor, and Lowrance electronics for their efforts.

 

 

 In 2nd place was Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Jared Carpenter and Brian Ross with a 2 day total of  26.61 lbs. They received $2,593.75 for their efforts. I'd say it's a safe bet the jig bite was on!!! Congratulations to both teams for a job well done!!!

 

*September 28, 2009* Congratulations to Team Pittsburg Marine fishermen Brandon Moberly & Luke Devere for winning the USA Bassin Regional @ Rough River this weekend. Brandon & Luke had the only limit of fish in the 98 boat field that weighed in at 11.61 pounds, 2nd place was 8.88 pounds. Their's a pretty good chance these fish were caught on a jig. Also Brandon was the co angler points champion this year in the BFL Mountain division with Luke finishing 6th in the points. Both are now getting ready to go to the BFL Reginal on Lake Norman in North Carolina, where they will be fishing for a new Ranger 198 with either a 200 hp Evinrude or Yamaha and a spot into the 2010 BFL All American. Everybody better be on the lookout for these 2 young guns!!! Congratulation for a job well done!!! 

 

 

 

*August 1, 2009* And the winner is Brad Roberts!!!! Pittsburg Marine would like to congratulate Brad for winning the 2009 Forrest Wood Cup in Pittsburgh, Pa held July 30th to August 1st. Pictured with Brad are his wife Lisa and son Landon. On day 1 Brad was paired up with Tracy Adams and caught 3 fish that weighed 2.09 lbs, on day two Brad was paired up with Shinichi Fukae and caught 2 more fish that weighed in at 3.04 lbs to give him a two day total of 5.13 lbs. This give him enough weight to make the day three cut and be in 8th place overall. But Brad was just getting warmed up with his Cumberland Pro Jig and Shakyhead. On day 3 Brad was paired up with Michael Iaconelli and by 11:30 had him wondering what to do as Brad already had a 5 fish limit. After breaking a rod out of aggravation and a few choice words Iaconelli started asking questions. After Brad shared his Cumberland Pro Shakyhead paired up with a 5" Senko Iaconelli begin catching fish also. Iaconelli ended up with 4 fish that weighed in at 4.12 lbs. on day 3. Then on day 4 Iaconelli had a 5 fish limit that weighed in at 4.10 lbs that earned him 2nd place and $100,000 on the pro side. Wonder what he fished with, could it have been a Cumberland Pro Shakyhead?? Brad ended up catching a total of 7 keepers, his best 5 weighed in at 6.04 lbs. landing him first place on the co angler side along with $25,000 plus another $25,000 for Ranger Cup (it pays to own a Ranger boat)!!! Congratulations to Brad for a job well done!!! 

 

 *June 3, 2009* Pittsburg Marine would like to congratulate Mike Devere for his 4th place finish in the 2009 BFL All American at the Mississippi River in Davenport, Iowa. Mike had a 3 day total of 22.14 pounds and received $13,000 for his efforts. Plus he also received another $8,000 in contingency awards (it pays to fish out of a Ranger boat). Also congratulations to Brian Ross & Noah Griffith who participated on the co angler side of the All American. Brian finished 20th with a 2 day total of 5.11 pounds and received $2,000 plus $1,250 in contingency awards for his efforts. Noah finished in 35th with a 2 day total of 3.03 pounds and received $1,500 plus $500 in contingency awards for his efforts. Pittsburg Marine is proud to call these men freinds as well as customers. Congratulations gentlemen on a job well done!!
